The Absolute Cutest Kid in the World...

period. At least we think so. Of course we are super biased, but shouldn't all parents be? Laura gets mad when I post nothing but pictures, but when I see a picture this cute, I have to. He is the most smiling baby I have ever seen. He is a rock star wherever we go. Ladies come up to him when we are in the store and call him a little flirt. People at my work and at church mob him, which is cool but at the same time it kind of bugs us when so many people want to touch him. I guess I am becoming a germophobe.

Mmmmmmmm Feet!

Sam has started to really explore his world. OK, it really isn't exploring, he just shoves anything within reach into his toothless mouth. We are pretty watchful most of the time and have prevented my laptop, our TV remote, and several other non-edible items from entering slobberville. But of course, we aren't always successful. When nothing is within his diminutive reach, he goes for the next most logical toy--his feet. Yummy indeed! At least he is not walking over nasty germ infested floors yet.

Little Blue Eyes

Wow, what a good looking kid. He has mommy's beautiful blue eyes. I love this picture, so we had to post it.

Travelers

We saw this map on a freinds blog and thought it was pretty cool. So we figured we would try it out. Sam's mommy and daddy have traveled to 1/4 of the world!

Happy 5 Months Little Red!!

August 8th, Sam turned 5 months. He is growing like a weed, in more ways than one. We sure love him! This picture was a little hard to take seeing that everything in reach goes to the mouth. Don't worry I am not feeding chocolate to my son yet, his dad will do the honors of eating it for him!

Play Time for Sam

We bought Sam's exersaucer a couple of months ago, and he is just now starting to love it! I suppose it's the freedom it allows him to be standing up and see the world as we do, who's to blame him!

Where's Sam?

Mommy and daddy have been having a little too much fun at Sam's expense. Daddy likes to call it "animaflauge." Please forgive us Sam.

Sam Exposed

Lately we have tried to catch Sam in some of his finer moments. He really enjoys standing now, with some help from us of course. He especially loves to stand on his diaper changing table to admire himself in the mirror. How vain he is! We thought the rolls on the back of his legs were so cute we had to take a picture.

Enjoying his bouncer, he is such an awesome little guy. He takes such great pictures!

Mommy found his favorite teething ring stuck on his face. Apparently he doesn't realize the duck goes in his mouth, not around it.

Momentous Occasions in Food!

Sam has graduated from the all milk diet! About two weeks ago (it has taken us this long to catch up) we started Sam on a rice diet. Being ignorant as I am, I thought of rice like the kind I ate in Korea for two years-just minus the kimchi. Of course, I was sorely mistaken. The mixture we started him with looked more like milk to me, but apparently it is a solid.

He took to the rice mixture quite well, and for a week or so we fed him that once in the morning and once at night. He was eating it so well mommy decided to thicken it up a bit and add some Gerber green beans to the mix. Sam was not a fan of this change to his world, the faces he pulled while we tried to shove the concoction in his mouth were hilarious. Nothing but pure disdain for the new mix. This was confirmed very clearly when he spit a whole mouthful back at me one pleasant evening. Being the super mom she is, Laura decided to substitute pears for green beans. That was it, Sam was gulping down his food with abandon. In fact, he would start crying when he finished! He knew it was over when we went for the bib and was not afraid of voicing his opinion. The only thing that would console him was his favorite blanket, and as long as it was within arms reach he would calm down nicely, at least long enough to let us clean him up.

He has also taken a liking to mommy's water glass. As with his blankie, any time it is within reach he is going to grab for it. Sometimes he gets lucky and mommy lets him try a little bit, and sometimes he just ends up gumming the top of the glass.

Hello Sports Fans

Sam was gracious enough to model his very first Boston Red Sox hat the other day. We bought it for him at Fenway Park 4 months before he was born. What a cute kid, maybe a baseball player in the making? Who knows, whatever he wants to do we will vigorously encourage him, as long as he is involved in something productive.

We also took him shopping at a local sporting goods store. While daddy shopped for some necessities, baby got to try on his first mitt and play with his first football and basketball.
