In September we had noticed that there was this water pooling up in the cracks out front of our house. Then on the same day that California had a huge power outage, I noticed a pool of water in our garage. We called a plumber to come check on the problem, but because of this power outage he was stuck in traffic caused by non working traffic lights causing him to arrive at night when it was dark. So he and Dan using a flashlight walked around the house trying to access the situation. He turned off our water and left and did not return until the next day. We did not get our water back for several days. Adding to the pain of no water, they began to tear apart the house, leaving exposed beams, insulation, 7 fans and 5 dehumidifiers. That left the house at an inside temperature of over 90 degrees and loud noise, so we lived in our master bedroom with the door closed and went out for our meals.
Yes, it was a pain however we are very grateful for insurance that covered the majority of the $20,000! Oh yes, we did get new floors and some fresh paint! It's fun being a home owner.
